The Ibovespa index experienced an increase of over 0.5%, surpassing 182,000 points on Monday, as investors geared up for an eventful week of corporate earnings announcements. The reporting period for the fourth quarter of 2025 kicks off this week, with Itaú and Santander Brasil both edging up by 0.7%, expected to release their reports on February 4. Banking stocks saw a general uptick, with Bradesco rising by 0.8% and Banco do Brasil nearing a 1% increase. In the utilities sector, Axia led the charge, climbing by more than 1%, followed by Sabesp, which rose by 0.6% after revealing plans for a public tender offer for Emae shares. Additionally, Vale and Vivo both appreciated by over 1%. Conversely, Petrobras declined by over 2.5% following comments from US President Trump indicating that Iran was engaging in serious discussions with Washington, which eased concerns of military threats issued the previous week and could affect oil supply. Meanwhile, Brazil's Manufacturing PMI dropped to 47.0 in January from 47.6 the previous month, marking the weakest performance in the past four months.
